WHO WE ARE...
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Central PA is lead by President, Les Steckel... Vice President, Mark Gassman... Regional Director for the Eastern Metro Region, Barry Spofford... Central PA Area Director, Sue Kelly.
This area is made up of 7 counties -
Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York.
All staff are called by God to serve an area by raising local funds and working with coaches and athletes in campus clubs called huddles and sport camps. As a financial foundation is built in an area to support someone in sport ministry, staff are recruited to cover one or more counties. Staff come from many sport backgrounds, ages, stages of life...all are called to be ambassadors for Christ in their communities and need to build local boards and financial support. |
Central PA Director, Sue Kelly...
 Sue has been on staff full time since 1993. Sue was a 4 sport college athlete receiving All Conference honors in Volleyball, Basketball, Softball and Track. She was All District in Basketball and Track with Academic All American Honors in Basketball. Sue was named Bethany College Female Athlete of the Year her senior year and 10 years later became the first female athlete named to the Hall of Honor. She was also a member of the USA Olympic B Team for Team Handball. After college, Sue coached high school ball for 2 years before becoming the Head Volleyball and Asst. Basketball Coach at Liberty University. In 1987, she was named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. After 5 seasons at Liberty, she became the Head Volleyball Coach at St. Louis University for 3 seasons before being called to come on staff full time with FCA. She began as a field staff representative in St. Louis for 2 and a half years before moving to Portland, Oregon as the Associate State Director for 5 years. In 2000, she was called to Central PA to build the area. Sue is the proud aunt of 7 neices and nephews and spends all her free time playing or watching sports.

STAFF OPPORTUNITIES...
We have staff opportunities for full time, part time and volunteer staff. Must raise own support through personal contacts, fundraising events and trusting in God. It's a great faith builder to see God provide.
Development Director - A mature individual with contacts in the business world interested in helping this area grow by increasing our funding base. Should be able to coordinate development events, like golf scrambles and bring in business sponsors for the Banquet. Primary work will be friend raising.
Coaches Ministry Director - Someone with a coaching background interested in running Legacy Builder groups for coaches and increasing ministry events specifically for coaches. This could be a great part time position for a retired coach interested in leaving a legacy.
Berks Co. Director - Develop a board, raise support, serve the school huddles and coordinate ministry events in and for Berks County athletes and coaches.
Cumberland Co. Director - Work with existing Harrisburg area board, raise support, serve school huddles and work with current director, Sue Kelly, to increase FCA's influence in the Greater Harrisburg Area.
Harrisburg / York Area Rep. - Work with area huddles to increase ministry to athletes and coaches. Someone with interest and experience in an urban setting would be especially suited for this position.
Lancaster Co. Director - Develop a board, raise support, serve the school huddles and coordinate ministry events in and for Lancaster County athletes and coaches.
Lebanon Co. Director - Develop a board, raise support, serve the school huddles and coordinate ministry events in and for Lebanon County athletes and coaches.
Perry Co. Area Rep. - Work with mostly rural schools in Perry County.
York Co. Director - Develop a board, raise support, serve the school huddles and coordinate ministry events in and for York County athletes and coaches.
